Meta Agent

Connect Instagram and Facebook to yourang

The actual connection: press «Connect», authorize access, and select your Page and Instagram account, one click at a time.

Once your accounts are prepared (see «Prepare your Meta accounts»), connecting to yourang takes about a minute. You do it once and it applies to all Meta agents for your business.

Before you start

  • You have completed the four steps on the «Prepare your Meta accounts» page.
  • You are signed in to yourang with your account (you need Owner or Administrator permissions).
  • You know which Facebook profile to use: the one that administers the Page.
  • You are using a computer with an up-to-date browser: it makes the Facebook sign-in window easier to handle.

Connecting the account, step by step

    Open the Integrations section

    In the yourang side menu on the left, find and click «Integrations».

    Find the «Meta» card

    On the Integrations page scroll down to the «Meta» card (recognizable by the Meta icon). Below it you will find the «Connect» button.

  3. 3

    Click «Connect»

    A new window (popup) opens towards Facebook. If nothing opens, check that your browser has not blocked popups: an icon usually appears in the address bar — click it and choose «Always allow popups from this site», then try again.

    Sign in to Facebook

    In the window enter the credentials of the Facebook profile that administers the Page. If you are already signed in, Facebook will take you directly to the authorization screen.

    Grant ALL the requested permissions

    Facebook lists the permissions yourang needs to manage messages and comments. Leave all boxes enabled: do NOT untick any of them, otherwise the agent may be unable to read or reply. Press «Continue».

  6. 6

    Select the Page and Instagram account

    Facebook asks which Pages and Instagram accounts to grant access to. Select your business Page and the linked Instagram account. If you have multiple Pages, only select the ones you want to entrust to the agent. Confirm.

  7. 7

    Wait for confirmation

    The window closes by itself and you return to yourang. The Meta card now shows the status «Connected» (or a tick/«configured»).

What you will see once connected

  • The «Meta» card in Integrations shows the connected/configured status.
  • The selected Facebook Page and Instagram account are listed as associated with your business.
  • From this moment, new messages and comments will start arriving in the yourang inbox.

What yourang does behind the scenes

You don't need to configure anything manually: on connection, yourang automatically recognizes the Pages you administer and the linked Instagram accounts, and sets them up to receive new messages and comments. You don't see these technical steps: all you need to know is that as soon as a customer writes, the conversation appears in the inbox.

Reconnecting or disconnecting

  • Reconnect (occasionally necessary). For security, Facebook occasionally asks you to renew authorization (typically every couple of months). When the agent stops replying for no apparent reason, go back to Integrations and press «Connect» again, repeating the sign-in. Reconnect the SAME Page and the SAME account so you don't lose your conversation history.
  • Disconnect. If you want to stop, use the option to remove the connection on the Meta card: the agent stops sending and receiving until you reconnect.

Common problems and solutions

  • The window closes without connecting anything. You probably declined a permission, or closed the window too early. Try again and grant all the authorizations.
  • The Instagram account doesn't appear in the selection. It is either not professional or not linked to the Page. Go back to «Prepare your Meta accounts», complete Steps 1 and 2, then try again.
  • Facebook messages arrive but Instagram ones don't. Almost always it's the «Allow access to messages» toggle on Instagram being off (Step 3 of the preparation). Enable it and try again.
  • No window opens when I press «Connect». The browser is blocking popups. Unblock popups for this site in your browser settings and try again.
