OCR and price-list import

How to turn a PDF or an image of your price list into a digital catalogue.

Do you already have a price list in PDF, a photo of the menu, a legacy Excel? yourang.ai's automatic OCR turns these files into a structured catalogue, reducing to a few minutes a job that would take hours manually.

How it works

  1. 1

    Upload the file

PDF, JPG, PNG, even multiple pages. Quality matters: sharp scans produce better results.

  2. 2

    Automatic analysis

The system recognises the text, identifies items, descriptions, and prices, and proposes a catalogue structure.

  3. 3

    Preview and corrections

See the extraction before importing. You can fix errors, merge items, split into categories.

  4. 4

    Confirm and import

With a single click the products are created in the catalogue, ready to be used.

Limits of OCR

  • Complex layouts. Very graphic menus, with full backgrounds, decorative fonts, overlapping columns: OCR struggles. For critical files, prepare a 'clean' version of the price list.
  • Mixed languages. A menu in three languages needs attention. It's better to upload one file per language and then group them.
  • Promotional prices. Asterisks, small notes, conditions: OCR extracts the numbers but not always the meaning. Manually verify special cases.

Import from Excel or CSV

If you already have your price list in structured format (Excel, CSV), you can skip OCR and import directly. yourang.ai provides a template with recommended columns: download, fill in, upload. The import completes in seconds even for catalogues with hundreds of items.

Once imported, it lives in the panel

After import, the catalogue is edited in the panel, no longer in the original file. Keeping the PDF as the 'source' risks making you forget changes made in the system. Treat the panel as the single source of truth.
